Maruti Suzuki is preparing for its most ambitious product strategy yet, with the brand officially confirming the launch of 8 upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs in India by FY 2030-31. This major expansion comes alongside an investment of ₹70,000 crore in the country over the next 5–6 years, with the ultimate goal of capturing a 50% passenger vehicle (PV) market share and becoming India’s leading EV manufacturer.
Maruti Suzuki’s SUV Game Plan
During the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, Toshihiro Suzuki, President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, highlighted India as the brand’s “most critical market.” He confirmed that the next wave of launches will be SUV-centric, designed to meet rising demand across multiple segments.

With 8 new SUVs planned, Maruti Suzuki’s India lineup will expand to 28 models. The move comes at a time when SUVs account for over 50% of total passenger vehicle sales in India, making this segment the most competitive and rewarding.
What to Expect From Upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs

The SUV rollout is expected to begin by mid-2026, starting with the Fronx facelift featuring a strong-hybrid powertrain. By late 2026, Maruti will also launch a full-sized 7-seater SUV to compete with models like the Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra XUV700.

Reports further suggest that a small, affordable electric SUV is under development, though details remain under wraps. This could strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s position in the entry-level EV space, alongside the much-anticipated e-Vitara, scheduled to launch in December 2025 as the brand’s first locally manufactured BEV.
Focus on Exports and Carbon Neutrality
Maruti Suzuki is also reinforcing its role as a global export hub. In FY 2024-25 alone, the company exported 3.3 lakh units to markets like Europe and Japan, with volumes projected to cross 4 lakh units this year.
Aligned with Suzuki’s carbon neutrality vision, India will see the establishment of nine biogas plants in Gujarat by 2027 through partnerships with Banas, Amul, and NDDB. This will complement the brand’s diverse powertrain portfolio, which currently includes petrol, CNG, mild-hybrid, and strong-hybrid models.
Why It Matters
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs are more than just new models—they reflect the company’s strategy to dominate every key SUV segment, from compact hybrids to full-sized 7-seaters and EVs. For buyers, this means more choices with the assurance of Maruti’s wide service network, fuel efficiency, and growing EV expertise.
