Yamaha Two-Wheelers Get Cheaper by Up to Rs 17,581 After GST Cut
Yamaha Motor India has announced a major price reduction across its lineup of motorcycles and scooters in response to the new GST 2.0 reforms. The new prices, which will take effect from September 22, 2025, are designed to pass on the full benefit of the government’s decision to lower the GST rate on two-wheelers from 28% to 18%. This move will make Yamaha’s entire lineup more affordable, from its entry-level scooters to its premium sports bikes.

Significant Savings on Popular Models
The price drops are substantial, with reductions of up to Rs 17,581 on the R15. The popular MT15 will also see a price cut of nearly Rs 15,000. The price cuts also extend to Yamaha’s hybrid bikes and scooters, making them more accessible to a wider audience.
Here is a summary of the price reductions on key models:

A Boost for Festive Season Sales
According to Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India, the GST reduction is a “strong boost” for the two-wheeler market and will help stimulate overall consumption, especially during the festive season. By making two-wheelers more affordable, Yamaha aims to strengthen its position in the premium commuter and scooter segments and drive higher footfall to its dealerships.
What the New GST Means for Other Bikes
The new GST 2.0 reform has also introduced a steep 40% GST for bikes above 350cc. This change will increase the prices of larger motorcycles from brands like Royal Enfield, KTM, and Triumph. However, Yamaha’s entire lineup falls under the 350cc cap, which means it will only benefit from the new tax policy.
