VLF Mobster Scooter Launched in India: A Unique Ride with Great Features!

VLF, an Italian brand made in China and brought to India by Motohaus, has just launched its latest scooter, the VLF Mobster, in India. This new scooter joins the VLF Tennis electric scooter in the company’s lineup and brings some very unique features to the Indian market. It’s especially interesting because it’s the smallest scooter in India to have a liquid-cooled engine!

VLF Mobster: What Makes It Special?

The VLF Mobster stands out with a 125cc liquid-cooled engine. This is a big deal because liquid-cooling is usually found only on bigger scooters like the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. This engine gives the Mobster 12.1hp of power and 11.7Nm of torque, allowing it to reach a top speed of 100 kph.

In terms of looks, the Mobster has a sporty design inspired by Italjet, especially with its unique low-mounted headlights. It rides on 12-inch wheels with good quality tires and has telescopic front forks and dual gas-charged rear shock absorbers for a comfortable ride. The scooter also features a 230mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake.

Here’s a quick look at some key features:

  • Engine: 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled
  • Power: 12.1hp
  • Torque: 11.7Nm
  • Top Speed: 100 kph
  • Weight (Kerb): 122kg
  • Seat Height: 797mm
  • Ground Clearance: 155mm

Advanced Safety and Tech Features

The Mobster is packed with safety and tech features that are rarely seen on scooters in India:

  • Dual-Channel ABS: This is a premium safety feature that helps prevent the wheels from locking up during hard braking. It’s usually found on motorcycles, not scooters!
  • Traction Control: Another advanced safety feature that helps prevent the rear wheel from losing grip, especially on slippery roads. Both ABS and traction control can be switched on or off.
  • 5-inch TFT Display: A modern, colorful screen that shows all your riding information.
  • Bluetooth Connectivity: Connect your phone for calls, music, and navigation.
  • Keyless Ignition: Start your scooter without needing a key.
  • Optional Dashcam: For extra safety and recording your rides, you can get a dashcam as an accessory.

VLF Mobster Price and Availability

The VLF Mobster has been launched at an introductory price of ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). This special price is only for the first 2,500 customers. After that, the price might go up, though the company hasn’t confirmed the regular price yet.

This pricing puts it close to bigger scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155 (₹1.38 lakh) and Hero Xoom 160 (₹1.37 lakh), and above the TVS Ntorq 150 (from ₹1.09 lakh). While it might be a bit more expensive than some rivals, its unique features, especially for a 125cc scooter, make it a very distinctive choice for buyers looking for something different.

Motohaus currently has 12 dealerships across India and plans to add 10 more soon. However, it’s a new brand in the market, so buyers should consider the limited sales and service network.
