VinFast Launches Two New Electric SUVs in India
The popular Vietnamese EV maker, VinFast, has officially entered the Indian market by launching two new electric SUVs: the VF6 and VF7. These cars are being brought in as kits and will be assembled at the company’s new factory in Tamil Nadu. Bookings are now open for both models, with dealerships already set up in Chennai and Surat. VinFast plans to open a total of 35 showrooms across 27 cities by the end of this year.
Prices and Models
The VinFast VF6 starts at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The VinFast VF7, being the flagship model, has a starting price of Rs 20.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The VF6 comes in three trim levels: Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity.

VF6 Power, Range, and Features
The VF6 uses a 59.6 kWh battery that gives it a range of up to 468 km on a single charge. Its single motor provides a strong 201 PS of power and 310 Nm of torque. You can fast-charge it from 10% to 70% in just 25 minutes. It has a 2,730mm long wheelbase and a 190mm ground clearance, making it practical for Indian roads. The Earth trim has an all-black interior, while the Wind trim gets a dual-tone mocha brown and black theme.

VF7 Power and Performance
The VinFast VF7 comes with a larger 70.8 kWh battery. It has a claimed range of up to 532 km. You can choose between a single-motor or a dual-motor setup. The dual-motor version is very fast, producing a maximum power of 354 PS and 500 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. The VF7 Earth trim has a sporty all-black interior, while the Wind and Sky trims have a mocha brown and black theme.
Shared Key Features
Both electric SUVs come with a range of shared features. They are offered in six exterior colors, including Urban Mint and Jet Black. Inside, you get a 12.9-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, a panoramic glass roof, and 8 airbags. They are also equipped with advanced safety features like a blindspot monitor and Level-2 ADAS.
