The long-awaited Maruti Suzuki eVitara is set to debut in India in December 2025 via Nexa showrooms. Built on the new Heartect e platform, it will be the company’s first electric SUV designed for both India and global markets.

It will feature two battery pack options, fast charging capability, and a range of up to 500 km per charge. On the inside, the eVitara will pack premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, 10+ inch touchscreen infotainment system, full digital instrument cluster, and Level 2 ADAS.

Maruti is reportedly working on a three-row Grand Vitara, a more premium and spacious alternative to the current model. If greenlit, it will compete directly with Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700. Expect its debut by 2026, offering a mix of hybrid powertrains, advanced safety, and added practicality for families.

Maruti Suzuki Micro SUV

A brand-new micro SUV is also in the pipeline, likely to arrive between late 2026 and early 2027. Positioned below the Brezza, it will target entry-level SUV buyers and compete with the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. One of its highlights could be Maruti’s new in-house hybrid system, promising excellent efficiency at an affordable price point.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid

Maruti is preparing to launch a Fronx Hybrid variant as well, borrowing tech from the Smart Hybrid setup seen on export Dzire models. With better fuel economy and lower emissions, it will strengthen the Fronx’s appeal in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.

Conclusion

With the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, 7-seater Grand Vitara, a brand-new micro SUV, and the Fronx Hybrid, India’s largest carmaker is set to bring an exciting mix of electric and hybrid SUVs in the next two years. This aggressive roadmap could reshape the SUV market and reinforce Maruti Suzuki’s dominance in India.
