Indian Two Wheeler Retail Sales Surge in September 2025: Hero MotoCorp Leads, Ather Tops EV Segment

The two wheeler retail sales Sept 2025 report from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) highlights a strong month for India’s two-wheeler industry. Retail sales rose 6.51% year-on-year (YoY) to 12,87,735 units, thanks to GST 2.0 reforms and festive demand. While the overall industry saw growth, the biggest headlines came from Hero MotoCorp reclaiming the top spot and Ather Energy dethroning Ola Electric in the EV segment.

Market Overview: Growth Despite Challenges

  • YoY Growth: +6.51% compared to Sept 2024.
  • MoM Dip: -6.26% compared to August 2025.
  • YTD Growth: +3.07%, with 88,37,144 units sold in FY26 so far.

The festive season and GST cuts fueled demand, especially in rural markets, ensuring a strong close to Q3 2025.
