Maruti Suzuki’s SUV Masterplan: Two New Premium Models are Coming

Maruti Suzuki is seriously stepping up its game in the SUV market. After adding popular models like the Grand Vitara and Fronx, the company is now getting ready to launch two new premium SUVs in India. This is a bold move to grab a larger piece of the growing and highly profitable midsize SUV segment. Both models are expected to hit the market early next year.

Introducing the All-New Tata Sierra

After years of waiting, the Tata Sierra is finally coming back. This new model will be based on an advanced platform that can handle both ICE (petrol/diesel) and electric powertrains. The Sierra is expected to be one of Tata’s most advanced cars, with a triple dashboard display, a luxury four-seat lounge option, and even AWD capability on the electric version. It’s designed to be a true market disruptor.

The petrol engine will be a 1.5L turbo that produces 168 hp, while the diesel will make 116 hp. Both will have 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmission options.

Nissan’s New Midsize SUV

Not long after the Duster, Nissan will also launch its own midsize SUV. While the two cars will share their engines and platform, Nissan says its new SUV will have a completely different design, inspired by the flagship Nissan Patrol. This new model will be the successor to the old Terrano and will help Nissan make a strong comeback in India.
