Tata Punch Facelift 2025 Spied Testing in India – Key Updates You Need to Know

The Tata Punch has become one of the most important models for Tata Motors, consistently featuring in the top 10 best-selling cars in India. Customers value it for its SUV-like stance, practicality, and strong safety credentials. Now, with growing competition and rising demand for modern features, Tata Motors has been testing the Punch Facelift on Indian roads for over a year. While spy shots continue to surface, here’s a detailed look at the major changes expected in the new Punch facelift.

Tata Punch Facelift 2025-Fresh Exterior Design Inspired by Punch EV

Tata Motors is known for putting real effort into its facelifts rather than just minor tweaks, and the Punch facelift is no exception. The front profile of the updated Punch will draw heavy inspiration from the Punch EV. It will sport Y-shaped LED DRLs with sequential turn indicators, paired with new LED headlamps. Unlike the Punch EV, these DRLs won’t be connected across the bonnet, giving the facelifted model a slightly different identity. The bumper design will be new as well, with a revised radiator grille for airflow and redesigned LED fog lamps with a cornering function, replacing the halogen units of the current Punch.

On the side, the silhouette is expected to remain unchanged, though Tata will likely introduce newly designed 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels to refresh the look. At the rear, the facelift will carry bigger changes – redesigned taillamps connected by an LED strip, similar to the Altroz facelift, giving it a more premium appearance. Some spy shots suggest that Tata might be testing multiple variants, which explains why not all mules show connected LED taillamps.

Inside, the Punch facelift will also take cues from the Punch EV. The most noticeable addition will be the dual-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, just like the one seen in the new Nexon. The control panel will get an upgraded touch-based interface alongside physical toggles, offering a more modern feel. The instrument cluster will now feature a 10.25-inch fully digital display, replacing the smaller semi-digital unit from the current version.

While the touchscreen size is likely to remain 10.25 inches, Tata may reduce the bezels to give it a sleeker, almost bezel-less look. Other expected upgrades include multi-colour ambient lighting, an air purifier with AQI display, a 360-degree parking camera, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, and an illuminated glove box. These changes will make the Punch facelift far more appealing in terms of comfort and convenience.

Enhanced Safety Features

The Punch has already set a benchmark in safety, and the facelift will continue this tradition. Along with standard safety features like ABS, EBD, dual airbags, and ESC, Tata is expected to make six airbags standard across variants, along with features like hill-hold control and seatbelt reminders. ISOFIX mounts and seatbelt pre-tensioners are also likely to be included. With these updates, the Punch facelift will further strengthen its appeal as one of the safest cars in its class.

Powertrain and Mileage – No Major Changes

Mechanically, the Punch facelift will continue with the tried-and-tested 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 87.8 PS and 115 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT automatic gearbox. The CNG variant will also remain available. However, one interesting update could be the introduction of AMT in the CNG version, just like Tata did with the Tiago CNG. This would make the Punch CNG more versatile for city buyers. Mileage figures are expected to remain similar to the outgoing model.

Tata Punch Facelift 2025-Expected Launch and Price in India

The Tata Punch facelift launch in India is expected around October or November 2025, just in time for the festive season. Pricing is likely to start from ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to around ₹9.5 lakh, depending on the variant and powertrain options.
