Suzuki Vision e-Sky Electric Concept Unveiled – Is This the Next-Gen WagonR EV?
Suzuki has pulled the wraps off the Vision e-Sky Electric Concept, a futuristic kei car that hints at the company’s next step in small EV mobility. With its tallboy stance, boxy design, and a range exceeding 270 km, many believe this concept could pave the way for the much-awaited WagonR EV. The reveal comes just ahead of the Japan Mobility Show 2025, where Suzuki will showcase this electric concept alongside other eco-friendly innovations.
WagonR EV Styling Cues in the Vision e-Sky
The Vision e-Sky carries forward the iconic WagonR silhouette but with a more futuristic approach. Its design is sharper, sportier, and clearly EV-focused.
- Front Design: Closed-off grille, pixel-style lighting, and C-shaped LED DRLs replace the traditional WagonR fascia.
- Side Profile: Pronounced wheel arches, retractable door handles, and a tapering roofline for a more dynamic look.
- Rear Profile: C-shaped LED tail lamps, spoiler-mounted stop lamp, and wide windscreen with a flat bumper.
Dimensionally, the Vision e-Sky measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, which is nearly identical to the current petrol-powered WagonR in Japan.

Inside, the Vision e-Sky takes a minimal yet futuristic approach inspired by Japanese aesthetics.

This cabin clearly indicates that the WagonR EV will not just be an affordable EV, but also a smart, feature-loaded urban car.
Range & Performance Expectations
Suzuki has confirmed that the Vision e-Sky will offer a driving range of more than 270 km on a full charge. While exact motor and battery details haven’t been revealed, this figure positions it competitively against EVs like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV.
In India, Maruti Suzuki may not directly bring the e-Sky but could instead launch the Maruti eWX EV, already patented in India and carrying a similar tallboy design to the WagonR.

While the Vision e-Sky may remain a Japan-focused model, its design and platform could inspire Maruti Suzuki’s WagonR EV or eWX EV for the Indian market.
