The Skoda Kushaq Facelift is expected to launch in 2026, and new spy shots show it’s getting the exact upgrades it needs to fight its rivals.

The Skoda Kushaq has always been a fantastic SUV with two big selling points: it’s super safe (5-star Global NCAP rating) and it’s amazing to drive (thanks to its 1.5L TSI engine).

But it has always had one major problem: features.

When customers compared it to a Hyundai Creta or Kia Seltos, they saw the Kushaq was missing the most-wanted “cool” features. Now, it looks like Skoda is finally fixing that.

SKODA IS FINALLY ADDING A PANORAMIC SUNROOF

This is the biggest news. The test car was spotted with a panoramic sunroof. The current Kushaq only has a small, single-pane sunroof.

This was a huge disadvantage. In India, a panoramic sunroof is one of the most-wanted features. It makes the cabin feel bigger and more expensive.

Why is this a big deal? Because all of its main rivals have one:

  • Hyundai Creta
  • Kia Seltos
  • Maruti Grand Vitara
  • Toyota Hyryder
  • Maruti Victoris
  • The upcoming Tata Sierra

To compete, the Kushaq must have this feature. Skoda is finally playing the same game as the competition.

IT’S ALSO GETTING SAFER (AND EASIER TO PARK)

The Kushaq is already one of the safest cars in India. This facelift is going to make it even better.

It is expected to get two more “must-have” features:

  1. Level 2 ADAS: This is the advanced safety system (like in the Creta and Seltos) that can help with braking, staying in your lane, and cruise control.
  2. A 360-Degree Camera: This makes parking in tight city spots much, much easier.

WHAT IS NOT CHANGING? THE ENGINES

This is good news. The facelift will keep the same two excellent turbo-petrol engines:

  • 1.0-litre TSI Engine: The 115 hp engine, perfect for city driving and mileage.
  • 1.5-litre TSI Engine: The 150 hp “driver’s” engine that makes the Kushaq so much fun to drive.

The 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and 7-speed DSG (a type of fast automatic) will also be carried over.

OUR EXPERT VERDICT

The Skoda Kushaq Facelift is not just a small update; it’s Skoda fixing its biggest mistakes.

The Kushaq has always been the car you buy with your “head” (for safety and driving). The Creta and Seltos were the cars you buy with your “heart” (for features and style).

By adding the panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and ADAS, Skoda is finally building a car that appeals to both. This is the version of the Kushaq that can really fight the Creta for the number one spot.

What do you think? Are these new features enough to make you buy the Kushaq over a Creta? Share your thoughts below.
