Skoda’s Epic New EV: The Epiq is Almost Here
Skoda has given us our best look yet at its new compact electric SUV, the Epiq, at the Munich motor show. This car is a big deal for the brand, as it will be their most affordable EV yet, aiming to be priced similarly to their petrol-powered Kamiq. The Epiq is expected to arrive in showrooms in 2026 and will be a key part of Skoda’s plan to make electric cars a practical choice for everyday drivers.

A Striking New Design
The Epiq is the first car to fully use Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language. It’s a very bold look with unique patterned plastic trim and a distinctive lighting signature. It features a new glossy black “Tech-Deck Face” grille and wraparound rear lights. While the design is striking, its main goal is to be functional and authentic.
Range and Practicality
Although full details are still under wraps, Skoda has confirmed that the Epiq will be a compact SUV, measuring 4.1 meters long. It is expected to be available with two battery sizes, a 38 kWh and a 56 kWh pack, with a claimed range of up to 264 miles (about 425 km). The car is also very practical for its size, offering a generous 475-liter boot and several “Simply Clever” storage solutions.

Part of a Bigger Family
The Epiq is part of a joint project within the VW Group. It shares its platform with the upcoming Volkswagen ID.Cross and Cupra Raval. The production of these new small EVs will begin at the Volkswagen plant in Navarra, Spain. Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer said the Epiq is a step toward making electric cars a “compelling choice” for everyone.
