River Indie Scooter Now Comes with an 8-Year Warranty
River, a Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer, has taken a big step to boost customer confidence by introducing an extended warranty for its Indie electric scooter. The new program offers a major 8-year or 80,000-kilometer warranty that covers the battery and the motor, the two most critical components of any electric vehicle. This is a game-changing move for long-term ownership value.
Pricing and Coverage Details
This new warranty program will be available to all new and existing customers starting October 1. If you bought your River Indie after April 1, 2025, you can get the 8-year plan for Rs 8,399 plus GST. Existing owners who already have the 5-year extended warranty can upgrade to the new plan for Rs 3,399 plus GST within a one-month window.
The Promise of Long-Term Peace of Mind
The warranty provides a strong guarantee for buyers. River will replace the battery if its “State of Health” (SOH) falls below 70 percent. The program also guarantees a motor replacement if it becomes non-functional even after repair attempts. This move addresses common concerns about battery degradation and long-term costs, giving riders peace of mind.
Strengthening the Market Presence
With this move, River is aiming to strengthen its position in the competitive Indian EV market. The company currently operates 32 stores across 15 cities and has ambitious plans to expand its presence across all major Indian cities by 2026. This comprehensive warranty, one of the longest in the EV two-wheeler industry, sets a new standard for customer care.
