Peugeot Polygon Concept Previews a ‘Tron-Like’ Future
The Peugeot Polygon concept is here, and it looks like it drove straight out of a video game. This drivable, sharp-edged prototype is a bold statement from the French automaker, offering a tangible preview of the innovations heading to its production models from 2027 onward.
The headline-grabbing feature is what Peugeot calls the “Hypersquare” steer-by-wire system. This technology completely does away with the traditional circular steering wheel, replacing it with a futuristic polygon-shaped controller.

- How it works: The system is fully electronic (steer-by-wire), eliminating the mechanical connection to the wheels. Fingertip controls are located on four pods at each corner of the square-like wheel.
- The benefit: Peugeot claims this delivers “exceptional responsiveness and hyper-agility.” It allows for improved agility at low speeds and precise control at high speeds, all while filtering out unwanted vibrations from the road.

A High-Tech, Immersive Interior
The futuristic feel of the Peugeot Polygon concept continues inside. The traditional instrument panel has been completely removed. In its place, a massive micro-LED display is projected directly onto the windshield, creating a cleaner and more immersive driving experience.
This design philosophy also emphasizes sustainability and modularity. The concept utilizes recycled materials, 3D-printed parts, and components that are designed to be easily replaceable. Peugeot highlights customization as a key, with drivers able to swap interior materials, dashboard elements, and even steering wheel finishes within minutes.

A Design Pulled from a Video Game
At under 13 feet long, the Peugeot Polygon concept is tiny, but its design is aggressive. The bodywork is a mass of sharp angles, “Tron-looking” layers, and jutting slabs. The video game comparison is fitting, as the car is also featured in Fortnite’s Polygon City.
While Peugeot calls the Peugeot Polygon concept a vision for its future, it’s also a clear signal that the brand is focused on tech-heavy, daring design. Whether this exact look makes it to the street, the ‘Hypersquare’ system and the advanced interior tech are what will shape the brand’s next generation of compact cars.
