Osprey OC90 Land Rover Defender V8: A Corvette-Powered Beast
Land Rover recently released special “Classic” editions of their Defender, but they cost as much as a supercar with no extra power. If you want something truly special, there is a better option available. Meet the Osprey OC90 Land Rover Defender V8, a one-off custom build that packs American muscle into a British icon.
Built specifically for the 2025 SEMA Show, this vehicle is now looking for a new owner. At a price of $199,950, it is significantly cheaper than the official factory restorations, yet it offers far more performance.

Corvette Power Under the Hood
The highlight of the OC90 is what lies beneath the bonnet. Osprey Custom 4×4 swapped out the original engine for a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated LS3 V8—the same engine found in the C6 Chevrolet Corvette.
This massive upgrade produces over 430 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 6L80e six-speed automatic transmission and a push-button ignition system. To handle this power off-road, the truck features heavy-duty axles and a robust transfer case.

Built for the Trail and the Street
The engineering goes beyond just the engine. The Osprey OC90 Land Rover Defender V8 sits on upgraded Terrafirma shocks and springs that slightly lift the ride height. It rolls on 18-inch forged wheels wrapped in Kenda Klever mud-terrain tires, which are designed for desert racing.
Stopping power has also been improved with beefier front and rear disc brakes, ensuring you can handle all that V8 speed safely.

Luxury Meets Rugged Design
Visually, this Defender is stunning. It is finished in “Fuji White” with rally-inspired vinyl graphics and bright yellow accents on the skid plate and suspension arms.
Inside, the cabin blends old-school charm with modern tech:
- Infotainment: 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
- Audio: Rockford Fosgate sound system with a subwoofer.
- Finishes: Leather seats and a beautiful teak wood floor in the rear.
