Nissan Discontinues Ariya EV in the US
Nissan has confirmed that it will stop selling the Ariya electric SUV in the US starting with the 2026 model year. The company stated that this decision allows it to reallocate resources towards more affordable EVs, such as the new Leaf. While existing Ariya models will still be available at dealerships, Nissan has paused future production of the vehicle for the American market.
The Strategy Behind the Move

This, combined with slowing EV demand and the upcoming end of federal EV tax credits, made it difficult for the Ariya to compete with rivals. Nissan is now focusing on the new 2026 Leaf, which will have a much lower starting price to attract more buyers.
