Made-in-India Nissan Magnite Recalled in Saudi Arabia

Nissan has issued a voluntary recall for 1,552 units of the 2025 Nissan Magnite SUV in Saudi Arabia. The affected vehicles, which were manufactured in India, are being recalled due to a potential braking issue. The company stated that the defect could increase the risk of an accident, requiring immediate attention from owners.

The Reason for the Recall

According to Nissan, the recall is due to insufficient clearance between the brake pipe and the heat shield. This can cause the brake pipe to rub against the shield, potentially leading to damage and brake fluid leakage. Such a leak could trigger a warning light on the dashboard or, more seriously, result in a significant loss of braking effectiveness.

Is the Indian Model Affected?

Nissan has clarified that the recall only affects the left-hand-drive (LHD) versions of the Magnite sold in Saudi Arabia. The Indian model, which is a right-hand-drive (RHD) vehicle, has a different brake fluid pipe routing, which prevents this issue from occurring. As of now, Nissan Motor India has not announced any similar recalls for the Magnite sold in the domestic market.

Nissan’s Global Expansion Plans

The recall comes as Nissan is actively working to expand the Magnite’s reach. The company is keen on exporting the popular SUV to more LHD and RHD markets around the world. In India, Nissan is also preparing to launch a new sub-4-meter MPV and a compact SUV, similar to Renault’s Triber and Duster models, to strengthen its local portfolio.
