New Renault Kwid Facelift Spied: Is an Electric Variant Coming?
Renault is preparing to refresh one of its most popular entry-level cars, the Kwid. A heavily camouflaged test mule was recently spotted on Indian roads, hinting at a big update. The spy shots immediately raise one big question: is this the petrol facelift, or are we finally seeing the much-awaited Kwid EV?
Renault Kwid Facelift Design Updates
The design changes are hard to miss. The front fascia looks completely new, inspired by the Dacia Spring EV sold globally. Expect redesigned LED DRLs, new pentagonal headlamps, a fresh grille, and sharper bumpers. The rear also gets updated tail lamps, a reshaped bumper, and a sporty roof spoiler. The Kwid facelift clearly seems to be moving toward a more modern, global look.
Renault Kwid Facelift – ICE or EV?
The real mystery is under the hood. Renault is working on an electric version of the Kwid, which would rival the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV. If launched, it could use the Dacia Spring’s 26.8 kWh battery with a range of around 220 km (WLTP). However, some spy shots show a visible exhaust, which suggests this test car still runs on the 1.0L petrol engine.
Renault Kwid Facelift Interior & Features
Inside, big improvements are expected. A larger touchscreen, updated digital cluster, and premium touches like climate control and new upholstery are likely. Safety will also take a step up, with up to 6 airbags planned for higher trims.
