Maruti Suzuki’s Hybrid Plans

Maruti Suzuki is developing its own hybrid technology, called HEV Series, which works as a range extender. The Fronx will be the first car to feature this new system, followed by the next-generation Baleno. This hybrid technology is expected to deliver impressive mileage of over 30 kilometers per liter. Maruti is also considering adding this hybrid system to the Brezza to make it more competitive and fuel-efficient.

Mahindra’s Hybrid Strategy

Mahindra is joining the hybrid race with plans to develop a strong hybrid powertrain for its popular XUV3XO. This will be the brand’s first hybrid model in India and is expected to launch in 2026. The company is also evaluating a range-extended hybrid powertrain for its INGLO-based electric SUVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e, to offer a unique hybrid solution in the market.

Hyundai’s Future Hybrid SUVs

Hyundai is also preparing to introduce hybrid technology to its lineup, starting with the next-generation Creta in 2027. This model will likely feature a strong hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor. The company also plans to launch a new 7-seater hybrid SUV in 2027, which may share the same strong hybrid setup as the new Creta.
