Maruti Suzuki Sep 2025 Sales Report
The Maruti Suzuki Sep 2025 Sales data reveals a contrasting narrative for India’s largest automaker. While the company successfully delivered over 1.65 lakh units in just the first eight days of Navratri, reflecting strong festive momentum and GST 2.0 benefits, its overall domestic wholesale volumes for the month saw a slowdown. This performance highlights growing international success balancing domestic weakness.
Maruti Suzuki Sep 2025 Sales-Overall Performance and Export Dominance
Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 189,665 units in September 2025. The most striking figure was in exports, which reached a company highest-ever monthly tally of 42,204 units. This represents a sharp 52.21% growth year-on-year (YoY) compared to September 2024, establishing exports as a critical growth driver.

However, domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales dropped to 132,820 units, showing an 8.38% decline compared to the same month last year. This dip was attributed to weak demand in SUVs and sedans, coupled with logistical and supply chain challenges toward the end of the month.

Segment-Wise Domestic Sales: SUV Segment Takes the Hit
Breaking down the sales reveals that certain segments absorbed the decline while others maintained stability.
- Utility Vehicles (UVs): This segment, which includes the popular Brezza and Grand Vitara, was the most affected, dropping sharply to 48,695 units from 61,549 units in September 2024. This significant reduction highlights weak demand or stiff competition in the SUV space.
- Small and Compact Cars: Models like the Alto, WagonR, Swift, and Baleno collectively recorded 74,090 units, a slight increase over last year’s 70,843 units. This suggests that entry-level demand remained relatively stable.
- Van and Sedan Decline: The Eeco van sales slipped to 10,035 units (from 11,908 units). The Ciaz sedan recorded zero sales compared to 662 units in September 2024, confirming the continued decline in sedan demand.
Q2 FY26 Performance: Exports Balance Domestic Weakness
For the second quarter of the fiscal year (Q2 FY26), Maruti Suzuki’s total sales reached 550,874 units, reflecting a modest 1.72% YoY growth.
- Domestic Volume Drop: Domestic sales dropped by 5.55%, totaling 401,874 units.
- Export Surge: This domestic weakness was fully compensated by exports, which rose sharply by 42.17% to 110,487 units.
The overall quarterly performance underscores the vital role of exports in ensuring the company maintains a growth trajectory despite facing persistent challenges and softness in the domestic market.
