Maruti Suzuki Sales Soar: Crosses 80,000 Units in Just 4 Days of Navratri
Maruti Suzuki India is witnessing an unprecedented surge in demand this Navratri. The company was expected to surpass 80,000 units in retail sales within just a few days of the festival starting, signaling a powerful start to the festive season. This remarkable spike in sales is driven by a perfect combination of seasonal enthusiasm and the implementation of the new GST 2.0 rate reduction, which made small cars and SUVs significantly more affordable for customers.
Record Enquiries and Daily Bookings
The customer response has been nothing short of “phenomenal.” Maruti Suzuki is now receiving roughly 80,000 inquiries every day, which is double their usual daily average. This surge in interest is translating into a huge volume of orders, with bookings climbing to an impressive 18,000 units daily—about 50% higher than their normal rate. This strong performance follows the very first day of the new GST regime, where Maruti retailed 30,000 units alone.
Here is a summary of the sales momentum:
The GST 2.0 Catalyst and Inventory Warning
The GST 2.0 rate reduction, which lowered vehicle taxes on small cars and SUVs from 28% to 18%, has been the major catalyst for this sales spike. The entry-level segment, in particular, has seen the most dramatic growth, registering a roughly 50% increase in nationwide bookings. Models such as the Brezza, Dzire, and Baleno are proving to be the most sought-after vehicles. Given this intense demand, Maruti Suzuki has warned customers that some popular variants may run out of stock within four to five days, and buyers are being encouraged to complete their purchase quickly.
