Maruti Suzuki Production September 2025: Third-Highest Monthly Output, Eyes New Record in October
Maruti Suzuki India has once again demonstrated its production might, registering its third-highest monthly output in September 2025. The company rolled out 198,316 passenger vehicles (PVs), marking a 26.55% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to September 2024.
This milestone puts September 2025 just behind January 2025 (201,984 units) and January 2024 (200,767 units) — the only two months in which Maruti Suzuki’s cumulative PV production crossed the 200,000-unit mark. What makes this achievement even more significant is that the production tally excludes the Maruti Super Carry, a small commercial vehicle.
October 2025 Could Break All Records
With the festive season in full swing, October 2025 is expected to surpass all previous highs. Maruti Suzuki currently holds over 2.5 lakh bookings, and industry insiders estimate that production could touch 210,000 units, potentially setting a new all-time monthly record for the company.
Maruti Suzuki’s Expanding Capacity
In February 2025, Maruti Suzuki inaugurated the first plant at Kharkhoda, Haryana, adding 250,000 units annual capacity and raising the company’s total to 2.6 million units per annum. Production is now spread across four major facilities:
- Gurugram – 700,000 units
- Manesar – 900,000 units
- Hansalpur (Gujarat) – 750,000 units
- Kharkhoda (Haryana) – 250,000 units
Both Hansalpur and Kharkhoda plants are scalable to 1 million units per annum, reflecting Maruti’s long-term growth vision.
Broad Portfolio Fuelling Demand
The automaker currently produces 18 models across multiple segments:
- 7 Hatchbacks: Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Wagon R
- 2 Sedans: Dzire and (until March 2025) Ciaz
- 6 SUVs: Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris
- 2 MPVs: Ertiga and XL6
- 1 Van: Eeco
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki plants also manufacture four rebadged models for Toyota, underscoring its importance in the alliance.
Annual Target Within Reach
As per SIAM production data, Maruti Suzuki rolled out 1.6 million units (16,09,644) in the first nine months of 2025, registering a 5% YoY growth (January–September 2024: 15,31,194 units). To surpass its record annual output of 2.02 million units (CY2024), the company now needs to produce 415,707 units by year-end.
Given the surge in festive bookings and current demand momentum, this target could be achieved by end-November or mid-December 2025.
Looking Ahead: 33 Million and Counting
Maruti Suzuki, which celebrated its 30 millionth production milestone in March 2024 (40 years and 4 months after beginning operations in December 1983), is expected to have produced 33.3 million units by the end of September 2025.
With India’s passenger vehicle demand growing rapidly, Maruti Suzuki has already mapped out its future capacity expansion plan, aiming to scale up production to 4 million units per annum by FY2031.
