Sales Take a Dip in August

Maruti Suzuki is getting ready for a great festive season, Maruti Sales August 2025 Shows that they took a hit. Due to a change in tax rates, many buyers decided to hold off on their purchases, waiting for prices to drop. This led to an 8 percent decrease in sales compared to last year, with total sales at 1,31,278 units. Sales also saw a 5 percent month-on-month decrease from July.

Maruti Sales August 2025-The Top Performers Ertiga and Dzire

Despite the overall sales decline, the Ertiga and Dzire were star performers. The Maruti Ertiga was the best-selling car in India for the month, with 18,445 units sold, showing a small 1 percent year-on-year drop but an 11 percent increase from July. The Dzire sedan also performed well, with a huge 55 percent year-on-year growth to 16,509 units.

Mixed Results for Popular Models

Sales for the WagonR came in at 14,552 units, showing a slight dip, but its sales are expected to pick up soon with the new tax regulations. The Brezza, a popular compact SUV, saw a sharp 29 percent year-on-year sales decline to 13,620 units. This shows the tough competition in the Indian market.

Nexa Models Show Resilience

Maruti’s premium hatchback, the Baleno, saw a small 1 percent year-on-year increase, with sales at 12,549 units. The Fronx also performed steadily, though sales saw a slight 3 percent month-on-month decrease to 12,422 units. Interestingly, the Fronx recently hit a milestone, celebrating 5 lakh units produced in just 28 months.

Swift and Other Models

The Swift hatchback had a tough month, with sales of 12,385 units, a 4 percent decrease from last year. The Eeco van also saw a sales dip. Several other models, including the Grand Vitara and Alto, sold less than 10,000 units each and faced significant year-on-year and month-on-month sales decline. However, the XL6, Ignis, and Jimny saw improved sales.
