Maruti e Vitara India Launch Confirmed for December 2025 – Maruti’s First Electric SUV to Rival Creta EV and Curvv.ev

Maruti Suzuki has officially confirmed the launch of the Maruti e Vitara in India in December 2025, marking the brand’s long-awaited entry into the electric SUV market. The announcement was made by Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki, during a recent press conference.
Production of the Maruti e Vitara has already commenced at the Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, with initial units being prepared for export markets. The global version of the e Vitara is offered with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, available in both single-motor (FWD) and dual-motor (AWD) configurations.

In India, the e Vitara is expected to debut with the single-motor front-wheel-drive setup, promising a range of up to 500 km on a full charge. The all-wheel-drive version will follow at a later stage.
Inside, the Maruti e Vitara packs a premium feature list — including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.

Once launched, the Maruti e Vitara will take on major electric SUV rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv.ev, Mahindra BE 6, and the MG ZS EV.
The e Vitara’s arrival also signals Maruti Suzuki’s shift towards electrification, making it one of the most significant launches of 2025 for the Indian EV market.
