Mahindra XUV700 Facelift and XEV 7e Launch Within 6 Months
Mahindra is preparing for a busy few months with two big launches lined up for India. Within the next six months, the company will introduce the facelifted XUV700 along with an all-new electric SUV called the XEV 7e. Together, these models will strengthen Mahindra’s presence in both the traditional SUV and fast-growing EV markets.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift – Launch Timeline and Key Updates
The facelifted XUV700 has already been spotted testing several times across Indian roads. The updates appear to be inspired by the XUV.e8 concept, which Mahindra had showcased earlier.
Exterior Changes
The facelift is expected to feature a redesigned bumper, updated grille, and sharper headlamp clusters. The alloy wheels also sport a new design. At the rear, revised tail lamps and bumper are likely, along with a fresh set of colour options to keep the SUV’s styling up-to-date.
Interior and Features
Inside, Mahindra is working on making the cabin more premium with improved trims and upholstery. The biggest highlight could be a new triple-screen dashboard layout, giving the SUV a futuristic appeal. Advanced Level 2 ADAS functions, wireless connectivity, and an updated infotainment experience will also likely be part of the package.
Engine and Transmission
Despite the cosmetic and feature upgrades, Mahindra will continue with the proven 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engines. These will be offered with manual and automatic transmission options as before.
Mahindra XEV 7e – A New Electric SUV
The second major launch on the cards is the XEV 7e, a brand-new electric SUV based on the XUV700 platform. This model is expected to be a three-row EV, aimed at families looking for practicality combined with zero-emission mobility.
Design and Platform
The XEV 7e borrows its foundation from the XUV700 but will carry unique styling cues to set it apart as a dedicated EV. Mahindra is expected to give it a futuristic design language that reflects its Born Electric identity.
Battery and Range
While official details are still under wraps, the XEV 7e could utilise battery packs already seen in the XEV 9e and BE 6. This means it should offer competitive range figures suitable for both urban and highway driving.
More Mahindra SUVs in the Pipeline
Mahindra is not stopping at just these two launches. The BE 6 Rall-E, a more hardcore off-road-oriented EV, is also under development. In addition, the XUV 3XO will get an electric version, expanding Mahindra’s presence in the compact SUV segment. A smaller SUV, codenamed Vision S and often referred to as the baby Scorpio, has been caught testing but is not expected to arrive until 2027.
Mahindra’s Two-Pronged Strategy
The upcoming launches highlight Mahindra’s clear strategy for the next few years. On one hand, the company is refreshing its ICE lineup with timely facelifts to maintain competitiveness. On the other, it is aggressively pushing its Born Electric program with multiple new EVs across different segments.
Outlook
The XUV700 facelift and the XEV 7e are expected to debut within the next six months, setting the tone for Mahindra’s most ambitious product cycle yet. With fresh styling, premium features, and EV innovation, these launches could help Mahindra strengthen its hold on both ICE and EV markets in India.
