Hyundai has unveiled the Concept Three, a compact, all-electric hatchback, at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. This stunning concept is a preview of the upcoming IONIQ 3, which is expected to go into production in 2026. The car is designed to meet the growing demand for smaller EVs in Europe and will be a key addition to the expanding IONIQ lineup.

The Concept Three shows off Hyundai’s new “Art of Steel” design language. It has a distinctive look, blending smooth, sculpted shapes with sharp, modern lines. A major highlight is the new “Parametric Pixel” lighting, which gives the car a unique and futuristic look. While the concept features very bold elements like gullwing doors, the final production version of the IONIQ 3 is expected to have a more conventional design.

Inside, the Concept Three breaks away from traditional car design. Instead of a large central touchscreen, the cabin has a modular dashboard where drivers can bring their own gadgets and customize the space. Hyundai calls this the “Bring Your Own Lifestyle” or BYOL approach. The interior is also made with sustainable materials, like textiles from recycled ocean waste and lightweight aluminum foam. The design is all about creating a calm and intuitive space for the driver.

The production IONIQ 3 is expected to be built on the same platform as the upcoming Kia EV4. It will likely feature a 400-volt architecture, with single and dual-motor options. Hyundai is promising an impressive range of up to 390 miles (or 628 km) for the top-end models. The car will be smaller than the Creta EV, which is currently sold in India, and its launch in India has not yet been confirmed.
