VIN 001 and 002: A Unique Pair
In 2008, Hurst celebrated its 50th year by teaming up with Dodge to build just 50 special edition Vipers. The two cars heading to auction are VIN 001 (Coupe) and VIN 002 (Convertible).
What makes them even more special is their paint job. While the other 48 cars in the series were black with gold stripes, these first two are the only ones finished in Flat Gold with black stripes. They are essentially one-of-one models. Originally owned by collector Tammy Allen, they have been kept in pristine condition with incredibly low mileage—just 813 miles on the coupe and a mere 209 miles on the convertible.
Hurst Upgrades and V10 Power
These aren’t just standard Vipers with a fancy paint job. The Hurst package added serious performance goodies to the already potent platform.
Both cars retain the legendary 8.4-liter V10 engine. Since this generation of Viper did not come with stability control, driving these 600-horsepower beasts requires true skill. Inside, you will find special embroidery, a dash plaque certifying the authenticity, and the classic Hurst pistol-grip shifter.
