Honda Expands E-Clutch to the CL250 Scrambler
Honda has launched a new variant of its CL250 scrambler, which now features the brand’s advanced e-clutch system. This technology, which was first introduced on the CBR650R and CB650R, allows riders to shift gears without using the clutch lever, making the riding experience easier and more convenient. The new CL250 E-Clutch variant is set to go on sale in Japan on October 24.
Riding Made Smarter and Simpler
The e-clutch system is designed for both beginners and experienced riders. It eliminates the need to use the clutch when starting from a stop or when shifting gears, providing a smoother ride with less effort. However, if a rider chooses to, they can still use the clutch manually, offering the best of both worlds. This technology ensures a seamless riding experience while maintaining full control over the bike.
Design, Accessories, and Key Updates
The new CL250 has received several design and feature updates. The base model now has a redesigned main step for easier ground reach and a more comfortable seat. Both the base and E-Clutch variants have a refreshed instrument cluster that reduces glare for better visibility. The new E-Clutch variant also comes with two exciting color options: Pearl Dusk Yellow and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, and can be customized with a range of official accessories for both looks and long-distance travel.
Performance and Technical Specifications
The Honda CL250 is powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 24 PS and 23 Nm of torque. The bike is paired with a 6-speed transmission and boasts a fuel efficiency of 34.6 kmpl. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with single disc brakes. The base variant weighs 172 kg, while the e-clutch variant is slightly heavier at 175 kg.
