Honda Car Sales September 2025: Strong Monthly Rebound Amid Yearly Decline

Honda Cars India has published its sales numbers for September 2025, showing a mixed performance. While the brand faced a yearly decline, it managed to bounce back with a strong monthly recovery. This suggests that buyer sentiment is improving, especially with the impact of GST 2.0 reforms and the start of the festive season.

Honda Car Sales – September 2025 Performance

In September 2025, Honda car sales stood at 5,303 units, down by 6.56% YoY compared to 5,675 units in September 2024. However, on a month-on-month basis, the brand posted a sharp 37.74% growth, bouncing back from just 3,850 units sold in August 2025.

This rebound highlights effective retail strategies and renewed market demand. The festive season tailwinds seem to be working in Honda’s favour.

Domestic & Export Sales Breakdown – September 2025

The overall performance still shows pressure, with both domestic and export numbers declining YoY.

Honda Car Sales – Q2 FY26 (July–Sept 2025)

For Q2 FY26, the brand struggled with a sharp decline:

  • Total Sales: 6,774 units, down 39.21% YoY
  • Domestic: 3,850 units (−27.71% YoY)
  • Exports: 2,924 units (−49.73% YoY)

Clearly, exports dragged the overall numbers, highlighting global market challenges for Honda.

Optimism Ahead – GST 2.0 and Festive Season

Despite weak yearly and quarterly data, Honda Cars India is optimistic. With GST 2.0 reforms making cars more affordable and festive demand picking up, the company expects stronger sales in October and November.

Honda’s leadership believes that the Honda Elevate and other refreshed models will attract buyers during Navratri, Dhanteras, and Diwali. Early signs of increased inquiries and showroom visits point to a likely recovery.
