Introduction
TVS Motor Company has announced a price hike for its flagship TVS Apache RTX BTO adventure motorcycle. Within just two weeks of launch, the BTO (Built To Order) variant has become more expensive by ₹5,000, bringing its ex-showroom price to ₹2.34 lakh.
Price Revision Across Variants
At launch, the Apache RTX lineup was introduced in three trims:
- Base – ₹1.99 lakh
- Top – ₹2.14 lakh
- BTO – ₹2.29 lakh
Now, the TVS Apache RTX BTO sits at ₹2.34 lakh, marking the first price revision for the adventure model.
What Makes the BTO Special?
The BTO version differentiates itself from the Base and Top trims with additional premium features. These include adjustable suspension on both ends, a brass-coated chain, and an exclusive four-colour palette – Viper Green, Lightning Black, Metallic Blue, and Tarn Brown.
This customization-focused approach ensures the BTO variant caters to riders seeking more control and a distinctive look.
Features and Equipment
The TVS Apache RTX BTO is loaded with modern tech. A 5.0-inch TFT display offers full-screen smartphone mirroring, Google Maps navigation, and detailed ride telemetry.
The bike runs on a 19-17-inch wheel setup with dual-purpose tyres, ideal for both on-road and off-road conditions. It weighs 180 kg, offers a 200 mm ground clearance, an 835 mm seat height, and packs a 12.5-litre fuel tank—numbers that position it firmly as an adventure tourer.
Engine and Performance
Under the skin, the TVS Apache RTX BTO is powered by the new 299.1 cc RT-XD4 liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This motor produces 35.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
A bi-directional quickshifter is standard across the range, along with four riding modes: Urban, Tour, Rain, and Rally—enhancing versatility for varied terrains and conditions.
Conclusion
With the price of the TVS Apache RTX BTO now at ₹2.34 lakh, TVS has reaffirmed its premium positioning in the adventure segment. While the hike may surprise some buyers, the unique features, advanced electronics, and powerful new engine still make it a strong value proposition against rivals like the KTM 250 Adventure and Suzuki V-Strom SX.
