The Bajaj Chetak upcoming new model has been spotted testing for the first time. This next-generation version is expected to launch in 2026, marking a major step in Bajaj Auto’s electric scooter journey after the success of the Chetak 30 Series and 35 Series.

Spy shots reveal that while the overall silhouette remains familiar, there are several notable changes under the skin. These include a revised powertrain setup, updated cycle parts, and refreshed styling details.

What’s New in the Next-Gen Bajaj Chetak?

At the rear, the LED tail lamp has been completely redesigned. It now integrates both brake lights and turn indicators into a single sleek unit. The number plate holder and tyre hugger are new, while the charging port may be repositioned to the front apron area.

The side panels appear revised despite the heavy camouflage. The seat is now flatter, and the rear grab rail looks carried over. At the front, the scooter features LED DRLs and headlights similar to the current model, but apron-mounted indicators have moved to the handlebar area.

The Chetak logo is replaced with bold “Chetak” lettering, giving it a modern touch.

Mid-Level Variant on Test

The spied scooter seems to be a mid-level variant of the next-gen Chetak, possibly called Chetak 3502. Unlike higher trims, it features a hub motor instead of a mid-drive motor. It also misses out on a TFT display and premium single-sided suspension, instead using a basic LCD console and conventional twin telescopic forks.

Despite this, the scooter is expected to bring strong value in its segment, balancing affordability with improved features.

Expected Battery & Range

Bajaj is likely to equip the upcoming Chetak with either a 3 kWh or 3.5 kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 150 km per charge. This would make it more competitive against rivals like TVS iQube, Ather 450X, and Ola S1 Air.

Outlook

The Bajaj Chetak upcoming new model continues the brand’s legacy of combining retro-inspired styling with modern EV technology. With updated design, improved range, and multiple trims, the next-gen Chetak could become a game-changer in India’s growing electric scooter market.

If launched at a competitive price, it will strengthen Bajaj’s position against Ola, TVS, and Ather in the under-₹1.5 lakh e-scooter segment.
