Hyundai Model Wise Sales September 2025 – Creta & Venue Lead, Alcazar & Verna Struggle
Hyundai India reported total domestic sales of 51,547 units in September 2025, marking a modest 1% year-on-year growth compared to 51,101 units sold in the same month last year. Despite crossing the 50k mark, Hyundai slipped to the fourth position in monthly sales, behind Tata Motors and Mahindra, both of whom continue to challenge the Korean brand’s long-held dominance.
For years, Hyundai has consistently fought for the second spot in India’s passenger vehicle market. However, in the last 12–15 months, the position has frequently changed hands between Hyundai, Tata, and Mahindra.
Creta Leads Hyundai Sales Chart
As expected, the Hyundai Creta remained the brand’s best-selling model with 18,861 units sold last month. This marks a 19% YoY growth compared to 15,902 units in September 2024. The Creta continues to dominate the mid-size SUV segment and has been a steady volume driver for Hyundai.
Venue Benefits From GST Cuts
The Hyundai Venue recorded impressive growth, selling 11,484 units in September 2025, up from 10,259 units in the same period last year. The sharp rise in sales is largely attributed to recent GST rate cuts, which reduced Venue prices by up to ₹1.50 lakh depending on the variant.
Hyundai is also pushing festive offers on the Venue to clear stocks ahead of the new-gen Venue launch on November 4, 2025.

Tucson & Ioniq 5 Sales Dip
Premium models continued to face pressure, with Tucson sales at just 85 units (down 13% YoY) and the Ioniq 5 dropping sharply to only 6 units (down 81% YoY). Hyundai plans to launch a facelifted Ioniq 5 with longer driving range in early 2026, which could improve numbers in the premium EV space.
Outlook
Despite being pushed to fourth position in September, Hyundai has a busy product pipeline in the coming months. With the new-gen Venue, Creta facelift, and multiple SUVs lined up, the brand will aim to reclaim its place as India’s No. 2 carmaker.
