Renault Kwid EV Spied Testing in India – Design Highlights

At the front, the Kwid EV gets a redesigned bumper with inverted Y-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlamps. A cleverly concealed front charging port is placed under the logo, similar to the Dacia Spring sold overseas. The upright bonnet gives the car a slightly SUV-like stance.

From the side, plastic cladding, black ORVMs, and wheel caps indicate this could be a mid-spec or entry-level variant. At the rear, we can see a spoiler, antenna, rear wiper, defogger, and bumper-mounted brake light.

Based on the Dacia Spring, the Kwid EV is expected to feature a 26.8 kWh battery pack with motor options producing either 45 hp or 65 hp. The claimed driving range is around 225 km, and fast charging from 20% to 80% will take about 45 minutes.

Expected features include:

  • 10-inch infotainment system
  • 7-inch digital driver’s display
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Automatic climate control
  • Steering-mounted controls
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Kwid EV mobile app for connectivity

While Renault has not confirmed the official launch date, industry reports suggest the Kwid EV could debut soon with prices starting around ₹7 lakh (ex-showroom). Renault may also offer a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan to reduce upfront costs, making it even more accessible.

This would place the Kwid EV directly against the MG Comet EV, offering buyers an affordable and practical electric car option.
