Strong SUV Growth and Healthy YTD Performance

Mahindra’s year-to-date (YTD) numbers for April to September 2025 stood at 297,570 units, marking a healthy 14% rise compared to the same period in the last financial year. This sustained growth highlights the increasing demand for Mahindra’s diverse SUV lineup.

Mixed Performance in Commercial Vehicles, Three-Wheelers Shine

While the commercial vehicle (CV) portfolio witnessed mixed trends:

  • LCVs (Light Commercial Vehicles) under two tonnes saw a slight dip of 2% to 3,386 units last month.
  • The 2 to 3.5 tonne range surged by 21%, recording a tally of 23,342 units.
  • Over the six-month period, smaller LCVs fell 12%, but the larger segment grew 12% to 114,176 units.

The three-wheeler segment, including electric variants, added further cheer, climbing 30% in September to 13,017 units. This helped maintain an appreciable YTD growth of 32% at 53,578 units.

Exports Continue to Shine

Mahindra’s exports continued their impressive trajectory, offering a significant boost to overall volumes. Overseas shipments rose 43% in September to 4,320 units, while cumulative exports for the half-year reached a total of 20,303 units, up 38% from 14,680 units in the same period last year.

GST 2.0 Price Reductions Fuel Sales Momentum

The strong sales performance in September 2025 is largely attributed to the ongoing festive season and the timely GST 2.0-based price reductions. Mahindra has passed on substantial GST benefits to customers across its popular SUV lineup, making its models more accessible and attractive.

Price reductions and benefits vary by model:

  • Bolero and Bolero Neo: Total benefit of Rs. 2.56 lakh (combining a direct price cut of Rs. 1.27 lakh with additional perks worth Rs. 1.29 lakh).
  • XUV 3XO: Total savings of Rs. 2.46 lakh.
  • Thar and its Roxx variant: Combined benefits of Rs. 1.55 lakh and Rs. 1.53 lakh respectively.
  • Scorpio and Scorpio N: Attractive incentives with total benefits of Rs. 1.96 lakh and Rs. 2.15 lakh respectively.
  • XUV700 (Flagship): Tops the list with Rs. 2.24 lakh in combined price reduction and additional perks.

These aggressive pricing strategies, coupled with the festive fervor, are expected to sustain Mahindra’s strong sales momentum in the coming months.
