20 Least Selling Cars in August 2025 – Surprising Names on the List
The Indian car market saw a few surprises in August 2025. While some cars continued to dominate sales, others ended up at the bottom of the chart. The list of 20 least selling cars includes a mix of premium EVs, luxury SUVs, and even some mass-market models.
The most shocking part is that four cars sold zero units – Citroën C5 Aircross, Kia EV6, Kia EV9, and Nissan X-Trail. Premium electric cars like the EV6 were expected to do well, but these numbers show how tough the EV market still is in India.
Luxury names also struggled. The Jeep Grand Cherokee sold just 6 units, Citroën Basalt 7, Volkswagen Tiguan 8, and Toyota LC 300 only 15. Even the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is globally loved, sold just 14 units here.
But it’s not only premium cars. Mass-market models like Citroën eC3 (29 units), Volkswagen Golf (36 units), and Mahindra Marazzo (46 units) also faced weak demand. Larger family cars such as Kia Carnival (50 units) and Toyota Rumion (68 units) couldn’t do much better.
The biggest surprise for many is Kia’s EV6 and EV9 at zero sales. These models created a lot of buzz earlier, but the latest numbers suggest pricing and availability remain major hurdles.
This list is a reminder that in India’s price-sensitive market, even big names can struggle. Success is never guaranteed, no matter how strong the brand.
