The Final Goodbye for the Toyota Supra
The current-generation Toyota Supra is taking its final lap. Production for the MkV model is set to end in May 2026, with Toyota confirming there is no immediate replacement in the works. The discontinuation comes after the car’s sales peaked in the US at 6,830 units in 2021 and then dropped to just over 2,600 units annually since 2023. This highlights the tough competition in the niche sports car market.
The Final Edition with Upgraded Performance
To celebrate the end of this era, Toyota has launched the “Final Edition” of the MkV Supra. This version comes with significant upgrades aimed at improving the driving experience, including bigger Brembo brakes and a host of chassis and suspension enhancements. Toyota has also added aero modifications like a ducktail carbon-fiber rear spoiler to improve handling and downforce.
Impressive Power and Agility
The Final Edition retains the powerful turbocharged inline-six engine, which produces 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. This gives the car an excellent power-to-weight ratio, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds with the manual transmission and a blistering 3.9 seconds with the automatic. Its short wheelbase and numerous handling improvements make it agile and fun to drive.
Exclusive Style and Details
The special edition doesn’t just focus on performance; it also adds exclusive style. The car rides on new 19-inch forged aluminum matte black wheels. Inside, the driver’s seat is covered in Alcantara leather with an embroidered Gazoo Racing logo. Red stitching and highlights add to the sporty feel, making it clear that this is a special and final version of the iconic car.
