Meet the TVS Orbiter: A New Electric Scooter for Young Riders!

Today, we’re taking a first look at TVS’s newest electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter. This boxy-looking scooter starts at just ₹99,990, making it an affordable option under ₹1 lakh. But here’s the best part: its top speed is 68 km/h, making it perfect for 16-18 year olds who have a valid license for this speed. TVS designed the Orbiter specifically for this new generation of riders.

Unique Design & Features

The TVS Orbiter gets a unique, boxy design that’s also quite aerodynamic at the front. It comes in eye-catching colors, like the unique shade we’re seeing. The scooter features 14-inch wheels with 90/90 tires and a Combi Brake System (CBS) for safety, though it uses drum brakes instead of discs. You’ll find telescopic forks at the front and a stylish LED DRL (Daytime Running Light) setup with the TVS logo. The design is sure to stand out, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on its looks in the comments!

Practicality & Convenience

The Orbiter offers excellent practicality. The footboard is flat and spacious, providing plenty of room for your feet. Even better, there’s a convenient storage space on the footboard, perfect for a tiffin box, a small bottle, or your phone. You can even charge your phone here with the USB-B fast charger! The scooter also features a fully digital instrument cluster that displays speed, cruise control function, battery percentage, and more. It has two riding modes: City and Eco, with an impressive range of 114 km on a full charge (company claims 150 km).

Under-seat Storage & Comfort

The TVS Orbiter boasts a generous 34 liters of under-seat storage, enough to comfortably fit two half-face helmets. This means you can store one helmet and still have space for groceries or other essentials, which is fantastic for daily use. The seat itself is quite long at 845 mm and has an accessible height of 760-770 mm, making it comfortable for a wide range of riders. Plus, with cut-outs for helmet heads and space for a first-aid kit, every detail is well thought out for convenience.

Advanced Technology & Safety

The Orbiter comes packed with technology for a smooth ride. The left switchgear is matte-finished and includes a pass light switch, indicators, and a horn. You’ll find a small hook for bags (max load 3 kg) and a proper cover for the battery pack. The scooter also features dual suspension at the rear for a comfortable ride, and a 12-inch rear wheel with a 2.2 kW or 2.5 kW hub motor for decent acceleration. The integrated navigation on the digital cluster provides clear, turn-by-turn directions, making city commutes a breeze.

Color Options & Final Thoughts

The TVS Orbiter is available in six attractive colors: Cosmic Titanium, Stellar Silver, Marsh Copper (all dual-tone with a different backrest design), Neon Sunburst (very bright and vibrant), Blue Stratus, and Lunar Grey. The dual-tone options offer a sportier look with a flat seat. With its combination of affordability, practicality, decent range, and modern features, the TVS Orbiter is a strong contender in the electric scooter market, especially for younger riders.
