Refreshed Design and Interior

The new Lexus IS features a redesigned front end that makes the car look sharper and more modern. The iconic spindle grille has been reworked, and the Lexus badge has been moved up to sit just below the hood. Inside, the changes are even more noticeable. The dashboard has been completely restyled, and the interior now features dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It also comes with new physical controls and premium materials like “forged bamboo” trim.

Reworked Powertrain and Handling

Lexus has made several mechanical upgrades to the IS. It will be offered with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 311 hp, paired with either an 8-speed automatic transmission for rear-wheel drive models or a 6-speed automatic for all-wheel drive. The sedan also gets a new electric power steering system and upgraded adaptive dampers, which are designed to improve responsiveness and ride comfort on bumpy roads. The long-running IS 300h hybrid variant with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and 220 hp will continue to be available in other markets.
