Creta, Fortuner, and Other SUVs Get Cheaper with New GST Rates
Great news for car buyers! Thanks to a recent GST rate reform, many popular SUVs and sedans are set to become much more affordable. While smaller cars are getting the biggest price cuts, even large and midsize SUVs will see significant price drops. This is happening because the tax structure has been simplified, replacing a mix of GST and extra fees (cess) with a single, lower tax rate.
Big Price Drops for Creta, Grand Vitara & Kushaq
Some of the most popular compact SUVs, like the Hyundai Creta, Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq, are about to get a lot cheaper. These cars, which were previously taxed at 50%, will now have a flat 40% GST. This change could lead to a price reduction of up to Rs 1.39 lakh for the Creta and over Rs 1.27 lakh for the Kushaq, making them even more competitive.
Massive Savings on Fortuner and XUV700
Large SUVs are getting some of the biggest price cuts. The Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra XUV700, and Toyota Innova Crysta will all see their prices drop by a huge amount. The Fortuner could become cheaper by up to Rs 3.49 lakh, while the XUV700 could see a price reduction of up to Rs 1.58 lakh. This makes these premium SUVs much more accessible to a wider range of buyers.
New Prices for Hybrids and Sedans
Hybrid cars are also seeing a price drop. The Grand Vitara Hybrid and Honda City Hybrid could both get cheaper by over Rs 50,000. The petrol version of the Honda City is also expected to get a price cut of up to Rs 57,000. These changes show a broad effort to make different types of cars more affordable for everyone.
