Mercedes Celebrates E-Class Anniversary with a Huge Price Drop
Big news for anyone eyeing a luxury car! Mercedes-Benz India is celebrating the first anniversary of its long wheelbase (LWB) E-Class. This car has been a major hit in India’s luxury market. To mark this special occasion, Mercedes is making the E-Class even more appealing with a significant price cut.
New Prices Due to Tax Reform
The price drop is happening because of a recent change in India’s GST (Goods and Services Tax) rules. The tax rate for big luxury cars has gone down to 40% from the previous 45–50%. Because of this, the E-Class now costs up to Rs 5.2 lakh less, which is a massive saving for buyers.
The new prices are:
Model | Fuel Type | Price |
---|---|---|
E200 | Petrol | Rs 78.5 lakh |
E220d | Diesel | Rs 80.5 lakh |
E450 4MATIC AMG Line | Petrol | Rs 91.7 lakh |
A New Color and Great Features

To make the first anniversary even more special, Mercedes has introduced a new “Verde Silver” color option. This, along with the lower price, will definitely attract more buyers. The E-Class LWB is built for comfort, especially for passengers in the back. It has reclining rear seats, pillows, and sunblinds.
Inside, the car feels like a high-tech lounge. It features a dual-screen MBUX Superscreen, a premium Burmester sound system with amazing 4D surround sound, and a beautiful panoramic sunroof. For safety, it has 8 airbags, which is a new standard for this type of car in India, along with other advanced safety features.

Engine Options for Everyone
The E-Class has three engine choices, all of which use a mild-hybrid system to be more efficient. The E200 has a 2.0-liter petrol engine, the E220d a 2.0-liter diesel, and the E450 AMG Line a more powerful 3.0-liter petrol engine with all-wheel drive.
The E-Class LWB has always been one of Mercedes’ most successful models in India, with over 62,000 cars sold so far. With the new color and lower price, this car is set to remain a favorite in the luxury market.
Mercedes-Benz India’s Statement

According to Santosh Iyer, the CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, the E-Class has set new standards for luxury and performance. He thanked India for making it the “most desirable luxury car” in the country. He mentioned that the new “Verde Silver” color is a way to celebrate its success and show their commitment to giving Indian customers the very best in modern luxury.
