Jeep Renegade North Star Edition Debuts in Japan, Limited to 150 Units

Jeep is giving its smallest SUV a limited-edition boost in Japan. The Jeep Renegade North Star Edition, a 150-unit special based on the Renegade Altitude e-Hybrid, has been launched exclusively for the Japanese market. The model aims to blend urban-friendly size with a tougher, premium look while pushing Jeep’s electrification plans forward in one of Asia’s most competitive small-crossover markets.

Priced at about 5.47 million yen (approximately $34,900 USD) including tax, the North Star Edition carries a premium that reflects its scarcity and generous equipment list.

Here is a closer look at the unique hybrid setup and the lifestyle-focused design.

Hybrid Power and Exclusive Kit

The North Star Edition is based on Jeep’s first mild-hybrid offering in Japan, combining its combustion engine with electric assistance for city driving.

Design Focused on Durability and Style

Visually, the Jeep Renegade North Star Edition leans heavily into a rugged, premium lifestyle aesthetic, contrasting the deep Technogreen exterior with black trim and unique badging.

  • Durability: The seats feature a new high-resistance upholstery said to be three times more durable than the standard material. This upgrade caters to adventurous lifestyles where the interior needs to withstand tough usage conditions.
  • Visual Accents: The exclusivity is underlined by a distinctive black hood decal with “North Star” lettering, dedicated badges on the front fenders, and green accents on the air vent bezels to match the exterior livery.
  • Technology: The car comes standard with modern features such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch Uconnect infotainment system with full LED lighting.

In a market crowded with homegrown competitors from Toyota and Suzuki, the Jeep Renegade North Star Edition offers a blend of capability, unique style, and a step toward electrification, ensuring the small Jeep remains visible and desirable for buyers seeking both urban agility and an outdoor spirit.
