Porsche 911 GT3 Manthey Kit Lowers Nürburgring Time to 6:52.981 Minutes
When it comes to performance, some partnerships are simply untouchable. Manthey Racing, a legendary team in which Porsche now owns a 51% stake, is responsible for optimizing the performance of Porsche’s GT models. Now, a new kit has just been announced with an eye toward the 992.2 GT3. The Porsche 911 GT3 Manthey Kit kicks performance up a notch beyond the standard Weissach Package by focusing solely on radical enhancements to aerodynamics, suspension, and braking.
The result is staggering: the Manthey Kit 911 GT3 lapped the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in 6:52.981 minutes, making it 2.76 seconds faster than the previous Manthey-equipped GT3.

Here is a breakdown of the hardware that achieved this record-breaking performance.
Aero Overhaul: Mastering Downforce
The Manthey kit focuses on making the entire underbody a continuous aerodynamic element, dramatically increasing downforce for faster cornering speeds.
| Component | Modification | Benefit |
| Front | Extended lip (+0.47 inches), special diffuser fins | Increased downforce at the front axle for stability. |
| Rear Wing | Wider, features Gurney flap and enlarged end plates | Optimizes airflow and increases rear downforce without increasing drag. |
| Underbody | Wider turning vanes and luggage compartment floor cover | Transformed into a smooth, continuous aerodynamic element. |
| Wheels | Carbon-Fiber Wheel Covers (Aerodiscs) | Applied to the rear wheels to further reduce drag and turbulence. |

Track Handling: Suspension and Brakes
No serious performance kit can claim such gains without a serious suspension package. The Porsche 911 GT3 Manthey Kit delivers with highly tunable hardware designed specifically for track use.
- Coilover Suspension: Comes with a four-way adjustable coilover suspension set, allowing for tool-less adjustments to rebound and compression.
- Stiffer Springs: Features a 10% increase in the front axle spring rate, improving handling on the limit and meeting the higher downforce requirements.
- Weight Reduction: Optional 20 or 21-inch rims are 6 kilograms lighter than the standard wheels, further reducing unsprung weight for better steering response.
- Braking: Braided steel brake lines are included as standard, guaranteeing better pressure and brake control, with optional racing brake pads available for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Manthey Kit proves that even the best performance machine can be improved upon, creating an ultra-focused, track-ready weapon capable of challenging the absolute best lap times in the world.
