All-New 2027 Kia Seltos Coming Soon With Telluride Styling and a Hybrid Option
The all-new 2027 Kia Seltos is set to make its global debut next month, marking a major revamp for the popular subcompact SUV. The 2027 Kia Seltos will adopt a new, rugged Telluride-inspired exterior and, according to reports, may finally receive a hybrid engine option for the U.S. market, shared with the Sportage. The next-generation 2027 Kia Seltos aims to solidify its strong position in the lineup by blending tougher styling with enhanced efficiency.
Global Debut & US Market Timeline
According to exclusive information retrieved by The Korean Car Blog, Kia is preparing to unveil the next-generation Seltos, and the wait won’t be too long.
- Global Debut: The 2027 Kia Seltos is reportedly happening on December 10, 2025, in Korea.
- US Release: A US release will likely follow sometime in 2026, just in time for the 2027 model year.
Rugged New Look Inspired by the Telluride
Previous sightings of the next-generation Seltos suggest a significant design leap, bringing Kia’s premium styling to its smaller SUVs. It will adopt a completely new design language, taking cues from Kia’s flagship Telluride.
Expect a boxier silhouette, wider grille, and squared headlamps, giving the small SUV a tougher, more upright presence. Heavier body cladding and a more defined shoulder line further enhance its SUV character, while a flatter rear profile with Telluride-style LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler complete the redesign. The new version leans further into rugged styling, addressing the current model’s more conservative design.
Hybrid Power Expected
While the current Seltos offers a 2.0-liter 146-hp engine and a 1.6-liter 195-hp turbo, the new model may finally get an electrified option in the U.S.
Reports suggest that the 2027 Kia Seltos could feature the Sportage’s 1.6-liter turbo-hybrid engine, marking the nameplate’s first foray into electrification for the US market. This would be a crucial upgrade to compete with hybrid offerings from Toyota and Honda.
