2026 Suzuki Jimny ADAS Update Unveiled – New Safety & Design Features Explained
Suzuki has officially revealed the 2026 Suzuki Jimny ADAS update, bringing a mix of advanced driver-assistance features and subtle design changes. While this update is currently reserved for the Japanese market, it highlights the brand’s focus on modernizing its lifestyle off-roader. Sales of the updated Jimny and Jimny Sierra will begin from November 4, 2025.
The headline change is the inclusion of Level-2 ADAS for 2026 Suzuki Jimny ADAS update, a big step forward in safety for the Jimny. The system now offers rearward false-start prevention, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, and adaptive cruise control. These features make the compact SUV safer for both city commutes and long drives, while also keeping it competitive against rivals like the Mahindra Thar Roxx, which already offers similar tech.
Apart from the safety suite, the 2026 Suzuki Jimny gets redesigned bumpers, giving it a refreshed look. The overall design remains faithful to the Jimny’s rugged, boxy charm that has made it an icon among enthusiasts. However, Suzuki has not introduced a hybrid variant yet, something that European markets continue to demand due to stricter emission norms.
Interestingly, while the 3-door Jimny and Jimny Sierra get this update, the 5-door Jimny Nomad in Japan still misses out on ADAS. In India too, Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed whether the 2026 ADAS suite will make its way to the locally sold Jimny.
Mechanically, the SUV remains unchanged. It continues to use the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox, along with the standard 4×4 transfer case.
With this ADAS upgrade, Suzuki has shown a clear intent to keep the Jimny relevant in global markets. For India, however, buyers will be watching closely to see if Maruti Suzuki decides to bring this safety-focused update to the 5-door model.
