Kia is preparing to launch the new-gen Seltos 2026, and big news has surfaced — the 1.5-litre diesel engine could soon be paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This will be the first-in-segment diesel 7AT setup, offering smoother shifts, lower RPM cruising, and improved fuel efficiency.

Currently, the Seltos diesel is available with 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT options, priced between ₹12.50 lakh and ₹19.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming 2026 version with a 7-speed AT is expected to start around ₹19.90 lakh, slotting just above the current top-end GTX+ Diesel AT trim.

The new transmission promises quieter cabin experience, quicker mid-range response, and better highway refinement. It will also help meet stricter BS7 emission norms, expected to take effect soon.
