New 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift – Fresh Design [Spy Shots]

The sedan segment in India has seen better days, with most manufacturers shifting their focus entirely to SUVs. However, Hyundai continues to keep the faith with its popular C-segment contender. The 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift has been spied recently, hinting that a mid-cycle update is around the corner. Since the current generation was launched in March 2023, this update comes at the right time to keep the model fresh against rivals like the Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia.

Exterior Design Updates

The most noticeable changes on the test mule are at the front. The spy shots suggest that Hyundai is moving away from the current horizontal headlight setup. The new model appears to feature a vertically oriented LED headlight arrangement. Along with this, the front fascia will likely get a set of repositioned LED DRLs and a redesigned bumper to give it a sharper look.

The side profile remains largely similar to the current model, retaining the existing sheet metal and conventional door handles. However, the test car was seen sporting a new alloy wheel design. These are expected to be 16-inch wheels wrapped in 205-section tyres. At the rear, you can expect revised LED tail lights and a tweaked bumper design.

Interior and Feature Upgrades

Hyundai is known for loading its cars with features, and the facelifted Verna will be no different. The biggest update inside the cabin is expected to be a new dual-curved screen setup. These 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster could be similar to the ones seen on the new Venue.

Other potential updates include a new steering wheel design and enhanced connectivity features. The sedan might also see the addition of dual-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof to match the competition. Enhanced Level-2 ADAS and upgraded telematics are also likely to be part of the package.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift is expected to carry over the existing powertrain lineup. This includes the reliable 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 112 bhp. It is paired with either a manual gearbox or an iVT automatic.

For those seeking performance, the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will continue to be the highlight. This unit churns out an impressive 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a manual transmission or a quick-shifting DCT. With the Maruti Ciaz nearing the end of its lifecycle, these strong engine options position the Verna well in the segment.
