2026 Honda CB650R and CBR650R Launched – New Colours & E-Clutch Tech

Honda has officially updated its popular middleweight motorcycles, the 2026 Honda CB650R and CBR650R, for global markets. The MY26 update focuses on new colour options and the continuation of Honda’s innovative E-Clutch technology, which has been a game-changer for riders across experience levels. Some of these colour updates are also expected to make their way to India.

The 2026 Honda CB650R gets a major aesthetic refresh with four new paint schemes:

  • Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic
  • Matte Jeans Blue Metallic
  • Candy Energy Orange
  • Grand Prix Red

These shades are applied primarily to the fuel tank, while the rest of the bike retains a Graphite Black Metallic finish. Enhancing the sporty vibe, Honda has added bronze-finished engine cases, alloy wheels, and golden USD forks, giving the CB650R a premium road presence.

Other design highlights include the retro-styled round LED headlamp with DRL, low-set handlebar, sculpted fuel tank, split seat, and stubby exhaust.

Honda CBR650R – Sporty New Matte Black

The 2026 Honda CBR650R has also received a fresh coat of paint. The biggest addition is the Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic option with striking yellow accents across the fairing and under-seat panels. Most surfaces, including the engine, are completely blacked-out to create an aggressive, stealthy look.

The CBR650R also continues with the Grand Prix Red colour option, which carries Honda’s racing DNA with its mix of red, blue, black, and white tones. This remains the most performance-inspired choice for enthusiasts.

Performance and Engine

Both the CB650R and CBR650R remain powered by the 649cc, liquid-cooled, inline-4, DOHC engine producing 95 PS and 63 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The biggest highlight remains the Honda E-Clutch, a first-in-segment technology that allows riders to shift gears without manually operating the clutch lever. This makes the riding experience smoother, especially for beginners, while still retaining full manual control for experienced riders.

Features and Equipment

Both bikes come loaded with modern tech:

  • 5-inch full-colour TFT display
  • Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity
  • Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)
  • Radial-mount front brakes for improved safety and handling

Price & Availability

While Honda has announced these updates for global markets, the 2026 Honda CB650R and CBR650R India launch could happen sometime in 2026. Expect pricing to be slightly higher than the current models due to the updated features and premium finishes.
